Video Booths: the new Wedding Reception Must-Have

Who wants the guestbook with the plume pen? NOT!…Forget about Photo Booths! How about a unique 21st century video guestbook?

Using a videographer to capture your wedding is a great way to relive all your special wedding day moments — but — nowadays, couples are taking the video concept to a “reality-TV” level, by adding video booths to their reception.

Generally, video booths are placed at the reception for guests to visit any time during the event to record messages, songs, stories, and thoughts for you in a candid manner.

These messages can later be converted into a DVD, or incorporated into your wedding video for you to enjoy long after the wedding. And, of course, this new spin is sure to keep your guests entertained throughout the night.

And they are not just for weddings, either — you can use them at your high school or family reunions and more!

The DIY Option

But, what do you do if:

1. You are on a TIGHT budget or
2. There is no local video booth rental in your area? (These booths are popular and accessible in Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland)

Well, you could take matters into your own hands:

Choose a spot at your venue to set up a backdrop, equipped with a tripod and camera. Add some props and let your guests play while creating special messages for the bride and groom.

Tips: Let guests know the video booth or set up is there; perhaps you could place a card on each table alerting them to its location. Have your MC or DJ encourage guests throughout the night to visit the booth or set up.
