Whatever happened to champagne and cake? A champagne reception is a budget-friendly way to celebrate. If the stress and cost of planning a dinner reception isn’t for you, put together a low-key champagne and dessert reception for your guests.

Cover a buffet table with a simple white tablecloth and stock it with champagne and sweet treats. Choose food with a similar color palette (pink, gold, and green). Goodies like chocolate, shortbread cookies, fruit, tarts, and small pastries are easy for guests to eat using only a cocktail napkin, so silverware and plates are optional.

Incorporate Ferrero Rocher chocolates and pink Hershey’s Kisses.

Poke strawberries with flag-topped bamboo skewers to make fun drink stirrers, and tie name tags to each champagne flute ensuring that guests won’t misplace their glass during the party.

Old fashioned sodas will bring back memories to your Pop-Pop or Grandma

If you have OCD like I do you can set them up arranged by color. Instead of keeping them on ice, refrigerate them and line them up on a table or bar.

The hardest part of having old fashioned sodas is finding them. They can be difficult to come by.

I adore this romantic Spanish theme wedding and reception.

The florist, submerged the orchids in the water on the tall centerpieces. Along with the tall centerpiece, each table had these little beauties around the main arrangement:

Here is the story behind the red damask votives: they came up with the idea to have the damask print designed and printed on vellum and then cut & attach the vellum to the votive holders. It was a huge undertaking, and Stacia of Serendipity designs created and printed the graphic and the bride and her family spent countless hours cutting, taping and glueing. There were hundreds of them!

This sweetheart table is so romantic!

The favors:

Inside each of the boxes, there was a scrumptious red velvet cupcake for each guest. This was in addition to the cake.

The kids got their own goodie bags, filled with little toys, activities and their own special cupcakes, designed like jungle animals!

The bride and groom also created a special surprise, a hand-made coloring book, featuring the animals found on the wedding reception property:

The DIY details never end: The bride even labeled these bubbles and tied a ribbon on each. An easy touch to take something from generic to adorable!

The ladies were given flipflops to wear while dancing:

My favorite thing about this wedding was that every single element was specifically designed to coordinate with the theme of the wedding. From pens for the guest book, to reserved signs, to votive candles and to the cocktail napkins: no detail was overlooked.

The bride even made welcome bags for their out of town guests that matched the stationery from the wedding:

The Spanish architecture lent itself wonderfully to the romantic Spanish theme.

The invitations were from Cards De Luxe.

A few cocktail hour details:

Guests walked though a cute little building to get down to the lower grounds, where the reception was held. They stuck childhood and couple photos of the bride & groom on every ledge or table they could find, along with candles. Guests loved it!
